Playing is serious business. Through play, children learn how to move through space, relate to others, respect rules, and ultimately discover the world around them. And if, by playing with the right toys, they could also become little superheroes helping to protect the planet wouldn't we want to encourage them?

The answer is simple: starting from small everyday actions, such as:

• choosing loose products or low-impact packaging when grocery shopping;
• shortening shower time by even just five minutes;
• walking or cycling to school whenever distances allow it;
• choosing toys with the environment in mind, so that our purchases leave a positive impact on the planet we all share.

Every June 5th, on the occasion of World Environment Day celebrated every year since 1974 families can take part in one of the many initiatives organized by local and international associations. There are countless activities to choose from: from plogging and educational talks, to environmental sustainability workshops, tree planting initiatives, beach clean-ups, and much more.

It is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on and experience more sustainable ways of living in harmony with nature, while also spending meaningful time with our children and helping them become more aware of environmental issues. Planet Earth is our only home, and protecting it is a responsibility shared by all of us.
